Feeling lost, unmotivated, unfulfilled?

Maybe you’ve checked off all the boxes in life: the career, the finance, the relationships ect…and yet you’re still left feeling empty, lost, unmotivated and even unfulfilled…

Can you relate?

If so, know you’re not alone. I too have been there as have the majority of my clients!

It’s an all too common occurrence, and here’s why…

We’re told to, “go to school, get a job, find love, buy a house, have children, be active in the community and then you’ll have it all and live the happy life!”

Yet, often it’s the exact opposite - we’re left feeling lost, unmotivated, burnt out and unfulfilled b/c all of the “checking” of the boxes is external to oneself.

15 years ago I began my own personal development journey of figuring out why no matter what I did or what I accomplished (what box I checked ;), I was always left feeling unsatisfied.

Now don’t get me wrong, there was happiness, but it was short lived and I was onto the next thing to try and get that next dopamine hit!

Fast forward, I can now look back and understand,

When I stopped the external search and instead turn inward I began to create inner peace & freedom!

Our inner peace is what creates sustained happiness; nothing external will ever do that…

And, yes we can have it all,  the beautiful love story, the house, the car, the travel and all that your heart desires, but the “all” needs to first start with finding your inner peace ….you know that feeling of tranquility and contentment within oneself, regardless of external circumstances. YES, that’s ultimate freedom!

And here’s how I got started:

1. Practicing Mindfulness: Mindfulness involves being aware of your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings without judgment. This practice helps you to focus on being in the present moment and prevents negative feelings such as anxiety or stress from taking over ✨

2. Engaging in Self-Care Activities: This is a none negotiable…Taking care of yourself! It has had a significant impact on my sense of peace. Engage in activities that make you feel good, such as taking a warm bath, sipping tea, meditating, massage, practicing yoga 🧘‍♀️

3. Connecting with Nature: I’m beyond grateful for our move to the woods a few years ago. Studies actually show that spending time in nature can have positive effects on both physical and mental health. Take a walk in the park, go for a hike, or simply spend time in your garden to connect with nature 🪴

4. Expressing Gratitude: never underestimate the simplicity of expressing gratitude. It’s a powerful practice that’s free and easily accessible as you can do it anywhere at anytime: driving, standing in line at the grocery store, at the gym, as you’re laying in bed waking up. Focusing on what your grateful for can help shift your focus from negative thoughts or emotions to positive ones, and we know how the saying goes, “What you focus on you get more of ;) I encourage you to take some time to reflect on the things you are grateful for in your life; start by listing out 5-10 things daily.

5. Seeking Support: I’m a huge believer & supporter of support. There’s nothing holding us back in life more then our self 😉 and it’s not our fault, it’s difficult to see our blind spots, our patterns… the deeper excavation work is a beautiful process of pinpointing the emotional wounds, releasing them and reinventing in a way that’s aligned with your true authentic self 💛

Creating inner peace with yourself is a process, and it may take time before you experience the benefits; I believe it’s a lifetime journey of continuous healing, growing & evolving. Be patient, kind and compassionate with yourself, and remember… once you have that feeling of tranquility and contentment within, the external desire you’re striving for, is the delicious icing on the cake!

You can have it all, just make sure you start first with creating your inner peace xo
